The dream
We have taken our inspiration from the stunning vintage chalets of the Alpine regions of Europe, especially the Haute Savoie of Eastern France. Since early settlers came to the area, the villages around Chamonix and further south towards La Rosiere and Val D'Isere, have retained a signature style and undeniable charm. Now we’re bringing their brand of country living to Niseko to recreate it using the world-class craftsmanship, raw materials and build quality of Japan, making SnowDog Chalets THE most desirable real estate in Hokkaido.
Marketing the dream
Walking through an abandoned ski station in Cervinia in the Valle d'Aosta on the Italian side of the border with Switzerland, we saw vintage posters of the world’s best resorts – St Moritz, Aspen, Courcheval and others – on the walls. Before resorts could market themselves with wall-sized blow-ups of shots of the slopes, après-ski, gastronomy and more, they used these hand-painted and printed pieces of retro art to provoke the emotions that the mountain slopes stir within us. We have taken inspiration from these posters to create artwork to promote SnowDog Chalets.
